Hi There!

Thanks for visiting Weekly Bite!  My name is Estela Schnelle, I am a Registered Dietitian & Nutritionist, and most importantly, I’m a mom! 

 Weekly Bite has become my way of sharing my love for life, baking, and cooking.  I live by the motto “EAT WHEN YOU’RE HUNGRY… and EAT REAL FOOD.”  I love all foods, and you’ll find me sharing recipes that are healthy, and some that have tons of butter.  I love sugar just as much as I love brocolli.  I truly believe there is a place for all foods. 

As a new mom, I’m always looking for ways to balance a healthy lifestyle with motherhood.  This blog is proof of that.  You’ll read a little about life, a little about nutrition, my love for cooking & baking, and trying to figure out how to be a mom at the same time. 

I send out a weekly newsletter to all subscribers with my latest recipe creations and nutrition info. Be sure to check out the News Flash section.  I created Health Feeds to help you find up-to-the-minute health information from the world’s largest news resources in one place.  I make my own baby food.  You can find recipes on my Baby Bites page.

Background Info

Early on in my life I believed that diets were the only way to become thin and healthy.  As a young girl I fell victim to the dreaded on a diet, off a diet mentality – even during college when I was working towards my Masters in Nutrition Science, I thought that to be healthy and thin, I always had to be on a diet.  Society has ingrained the DIET MENTALITY in all of us from an early age, and most people – even me – used to believe that  diets were the correct path to healthy weight loss.

It took me years of education, dieting, and self-discovery to free myself from the diet cycle and ultimately learn that putting my clients on a diet was the worse thing for them.  There was a time when I obsessed about food, being skinny, and what I could and could not eat.  I NEVER thought I could escape dieting, but I did.  I’m happy to say I haven’t thought about dieting in years.  Life is not about dieting or fitting into certain size clothing… life is all about finding a healthy balance.
