Pulled Pork Sliders
There was a special guest at Casa Weekly Bite over the weekend…
My Brother!
He flew in from Minneapolis to spend the weekend with us. I love seeing my brother. We can do nothing and still have a great time. Whenever we see each other he always introduces me to new music. He’s got the best taste!
M had a blast! She loves being spoiled by her uncle (she scored a new tricycle & play car).
Before he arrived, I went to the grocery store to stock up for the weekend. Having no idea what to cook I looked around the meat case to see if any ideas sparked. I spotted pork butt and pulled pork immediately came to mind.
Can I just take a second to point out how funny the name “pork butt” is?
I dare you to say pork butt 5 times without smiling…*pork butt* *pork butt* *pork butt* *pork butt* *pork butt*
You’re smiling aren’t you….
Picture me (all 5’2” of me) standing in front of the meat case. A very large 6’5” man asks me “What can I get for you little lady?”
My face becomes flushed as I say “I’ll take the 4 lb pork butt please.”
Sensing my embarrassment, he quickly wrapped it up.
I came home with a 4 lb pork butt…
These are the easiest pork sliders to make. All you need is:
- Crock Pot
- Root Beer (you can also use coca cola)
- 3-4 lb pork butt
- 1-2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce
- Slider Buns
First you wanna turn the crock pot on low. Place the pork in the pot. Pour the root beer over the pork (just enough to cover the top).
Cover the crock pot and let cook on low for 8 hours. This is when all the magic happens…
Remove the pork from the pot and debone.
It should just fall off the bone at this point.
Place the shredded meat back in the crock pot and pour your BBQ sauce over the meat. Add more or less to your suit your taste. Cover and let cook for another hour.
Serve on slider buns & enjoy!
How easy is that?!
This was the perfect meal for a Fall football all day!

Now go buy yourself a pork butt and make this…
Or just say *port butt* five times without smiling 😉
Pulled pork is my favorite meat dish (next to bacon alone). We LOVE it!!
My boys love pulled pork! I just told Tony about the root beer…you have me intrigued now! It looks great Estela!
yum i want to make this! i was in need of easy crockpot recipes and this definitely fits perfectly:-)
You are so clever! I don’t eat meat, but I’ll pass this one on to some friends and family members that I KNOW will eat this up!
Mmm…that looks great. I love the root beer addition!
Glad you had a nice visit with your brother! Great football food:)
Looks delish! I actually make pulled “pork” in my crockpot using skinless, boneless chicken thighs. With the right bbq sauce, it tastes the same. To me anyway! 🙂
Ooooh I haven’t had pulled pork in a while, I’m jealous! I love saying pork butt haha. You can also just say Pork Shoulder if you don’t want to burst out in giggles everytime 😉
YOM! i need to do slow cooker main dishes more often…this one needs to start that trend off too 😉
I seriously am craving BBQ now. And I love how easy this is. I’ve seen it before and can’t wait to try it.
Yum!! I love easy crockpot food like that! :)We usually add beer…does the rootbeer give it some flavor?
Oh I do love a good pulled pork sandwich! Yum : d
