SKINNY’S FAT….
I’m not gonna lie… the weather here sucks 🙁
Its 65 degrees, super windy, and its been raining constantly. To make matters worse… its not gonna clear up until I leave 🙁
Oh well. On the bright side… I am on vacation, I’m not at home, and I can do whatever I want 🙂
Tim and I had lunch yesterday at Skinny’s Fat Sandwiches. Its a fun little sandwich shop right across the way from our B&B.
I loved their huge chalkboard menu wall! So cute!
I had the veggie & hummus wrap…
It was the best hummus wrap I’ve ever had!! They make the red pepper hummus fresh in the store. It has chunks of chickpeas in it too! It also had summer squash, zucchini, romaine, and pickles! It was mighty tasty 🙂
I couldn’t help but take pics of their ice cream menu! LOVE the descriptions!!! If I wasn’t so full from my wrap I would’ve ordered the Oreo Cookie Nookie!
I wonder if anyone’s ever ordered the “Oink?” I’d just love to see it!!
Being on a Kid-less vacation… there are some things Tim and I have been able to do that we haven’t done since before M was born.
- Go on a 6 mile run together, and feel good that I can still keep up with him 🙂
- Sleep in past 6:30 in the morning. Which for us is sleeping until 8… which feels like we’ve slept till 11.
- Go to dinner at 8pm… then grab cocktails after…
- Go to the movies!!! (This is our own fault… we could easily get a baby sitter to do this.) With the weather being so crummy we ventured out to the local movie theatre and saw “The Kid’s are Alright” with Annette Benning and Julianne Moore. It was a great movie!
- We realize how much we miss our little munchkin 🙁 All we do now is talk about her! We’re at a restaurant and see someone’s kid scream and throw food on the floor and all we do is just look at each other and realize how much we miss M. 🙁 ‘Sigh’ The grass is always greener….
It’s another cold and rainy day here on the Vineyard. Our B&B has no gym (obviously) so I think I might brave the rain and go running. I foresee another movie in our future today. “Eat Pray Love” is playing today so we may go see that…
Question:
What do you do when you get rained out on vacation?
I need some suggestions 🙂
Have a great day!
That restaurant shop looks so cute! I actually really love when it rains on vacation for a day or two – I think it just takes the pressure totally off. I honestly just lay around, read and do no nothing.
Oh my! How delicious all of that looks!!
Glad you are enjoying yourself. Kid-less vacations are the best.
I love that you are visiting places I’m so familiar with! Totally been to that place…during a week that it rained the entire time. Haha. Figures, right?
In spite of all those cool pictures, I can’t help but be annoyed by the accent aigu on the e in Orange Creme. It makes no sense, pronunciation-wise. It should be an accent grave.
I wish someone would tell them.
That place looks great! Hummus wraps are my favorite sandwich….I wish I had one for lunch today!
That place looks so fun!! I really need to try and expand my bubble and find some great little places like that.
The weather here sucks too! It still looks like you are having so much fun. That place looks like it has great food!
Haha…when it rains on our vacations at the Cape we see a ton of movies and go eat, too. That, or do some shopping and make good use of an umbrella.
Definitely go to the movies and museums! Sorry about the weather, but I am glad you two are enjoying each other! That is the most important part! I hope you have a good one today!
oooooh, it’s all about reading, naps, and movies for me! i almost kind of hope that at least one day is rained out!
Oh, sorry the weather isn’t working out. I usually read endless blogs or play Yahtzee with the hubs if we are rained out. Or, be indulgent and take a nap. 😉
rain on vacation = movies! or cards in the hotel room hehe!
Glad you two are getting some alone time 🙂
That hummus wrap looks absolutely tasty! And I do love the signs for their desserts — very vintage-y 1950s-eque, no? Looks like a lot of fun, with or without the rain! There’s something dreamy about New England anyway, and I prefer the fall and spring there anyway! I’ll be in Boston this week, and I’m looking forward to it!
I saw Eat Pray Love — I liked the book much better (I mean, that is how it always is, though), and really the only part that’s phenomenal is the first part when she’s in Italy and the city streets, the food — YUM. In my honest opinion, though…! I’m a little biased, I guess, since I heart Rome and all…
Bummer that it is raining…but maybe it can be an excuse to relax inside and read, etc.?
Bummer. I have to say, I would not recommend Eat Pray Love. It’s a tad… boring. At least there are lots of cute places to eat on MV!
Bummer that it’s raining!!! I’m a big fan of board games when it rains.
This looks like an adorable lunch spot!
