School Pictures
The holiday season is here!!
Cue the all holiday music channels on Sirius and XM, start the crazy advertisements and “mega” sales at 5 in the morning.
Today you are probably packing the car or heading to the airport (TSA yikes!) to start the journey to your parents house to celebrate with them. You will be excited to see your brothers, sisters, mom & dad…..but you know what is waiting to greet you when you walk in their house. Besides the 80’s decorating and the list of things “wrong” with their computer that they need help with; there on the wall of the living room in all your 80’s and 90’s glory………your school pictures!!!! Your spouse will make fun of you and you will wonder out loud, “what your parents were thinking”
Welllll, now I know.
My parents, just like I do now, thought that every picture of their children were perfect.
I realize she’s going to hate me one day for posting these pics… but they’re just so darn cute I can’t help it!
All in all not much has changed since my school picture days…
- Same blue backdrop
- Same picture packages
- You still have to cut your own pictures
In a perfect blogging world, this is where I’d post some of my school pics. Lucky for me they are thousands of miles away in Texas. If any of my junior high or high school friends are reading this you know exactly what pictures I’m talking about. For those who didn’t know me then… think big poofy bangs, large framed glasses, and really bad fashion choices. Yep, I was a knock out… or at least those are the lies I tell myself 😉
If I have to pick the worst school picture experience ever… It’d be my 5th grade class picture. The photographer took tons of pictures. A couple weeks later we received our pictures and I was yawning. Yes… Yawning… right smack in the middle of the picture. Sweeeeet!
Now its your turn… what’s your worst school picture moment? I know you have one…..
Awww, she looks great!!!
School pictures…ugh!!! I definitely had a bowl cut in a few of them.
I hate every picture ever taken of me. The camera hates me, I swear.
You should see the drivers license picture I had taken just this week. I went to the DMV after the gym, wearing a hat, they made me take off the hat. OY!
Anyone else remember the kickass Laser backdrop?

Oh, in retrospect, all of my school pictures are sweet… perceived flaws and all. But while growing up, I hated my first grade photo because I didn’t have any of my FOUR front teeth. I lost all four about the same time.
i hate school pictures, but they look better with sweet M’s face in them!
Aw these are adorable pictures! They came out so nice 🙂 Makes me question my belief that school photographers distort pictures on purpose because they had bad school experiences when they were children… lol
Darling!
Oh my gosh…she is just SO DARN CUTE.
She is just so kissable!!!
Those pictures are classic. Blue background classic. Little girl not totally smiling, classic.
I love your cute blog!
Adorable of course! I don’t think I have any horror stories, except being extremley awkward from ages 11-16 but my brother did stick out his tounge when he was in kindegarten and had to get them re-taken. Little devil. 🙂
I think she won’t hate you. These are cute.
My 6th grade picture– I had just had stitches on my lower lip, my hair was newly permed, and glasses. And sweater.
Yep. I was hot.
Yay for school pictures of little ones! They always look cute, no matter what. 🙂
My worst photo op had to be my junior year in high school. I was at winter homecoming, and the photographer said “say HOMECOMING!” So of course, I say homecoming to humor the stupid photographer…and he clicks the picture right as I’m saying “Home-“. My mouth was in the shape of an O. Hideous, I tell you!
hahah! I love this!
It was the begging of grade 8…finally in “big girl school” there was a “hot” grade 9’er I was in love with and I decided I am going to get my hair cut…..lots of layers. The worst hair cut ever with the shortest bangs and it was the day before picture day.
I cried all day all night and had my pics taken with the “hotness” helping the photographer and my eyes were puffy from crying and my face bright red from hotness, and my hair pinned in every direction to keep it look somewhat normal. Sigh.
xxoo
She is so darn cute – what a good girl to sit still for those pictures!
she really is adorable!!!
Oh, the dreaded school pictures. Worst ever was second grade when I was sporting a she-mullet. Seriously, mom???
Well, I have 5 of your class pictures I’m sure among many many others…but I dont think they were that bad, were they? lol
So my worst picture moment was in the 4th grade. Except it wasn’t an individual picture but a CLASS picture. So EVERYONE saw it! Yep, I was wearing a dreaded training bra and my mother gave me a sweater to wear but little did I know, this sweater was see through. So you can see two triangles on my chest where the boobies go and I was smiling away thinking I looked so hot. Ummm NOT Go ahead, laugh at me lol
