Making Progress…

i. am. exhausted.

The past several days have been very busy.

We got the keys to our house on Friday 🙂

Bought tons of paint samples on Saturday….

Prepped the entire house for Sunday/Monday painting…

We painted the living area…

M’s room…

Baby #2’s room…

And every inch of the house that didn’t require a ladder (the mover’s had ours).

Monday the floor guys came and looked at the rooms.

Tuesday they removed all the carpet and prepped the floors for wood.

Wednesday is when things got a little crazy.

Around 8am our moving truck arrived. The guy in the picture is our neighbor. He was picking fresh peaches from his tree 🙂

As the moving guys unloaded and unpacked our stuff, the floor guys were inside doing what they do best…

We LOVE the way they turned out!! So so pretty!

We worked around the floor guys as much as we could. Finally, towards the end of the day, our house was slowly becoming a home.

We still have lots of unpacking and organizing to do… more pics coming soon 🙂

Editors note: Since I’m over 7 months pregnant, Mr. Weekly Bite & his brother did all the work mentioned in this post. I sat in a chair, drank lemonade, and supervised 🙂

You sure are tempting nature and baby to say, “Hello”

No need to worry Gregg, Mr. Weekly Bite did all the work and I supervised 🙂

Lovely home…congratulations Estela! The floors are gorgeous.

And of course your hubby and his brother should do all the work while you supervise. It’s the only way to get things done!

Your progress is amazing. We’ve been in our new CA home since Thanksgiving and we have not made much visual progress (the painting and floors will be our last things at the end of the summer). I’d love to know what you used for your floors … our search for floors, so far, has not netted anything as nice as yours look.

I agree with the above … you have an eye for putting things together.

    Take care of yourself :))

Haha, good or you sweetie! As you should have done! The floors and paint look amazing! I’m glad things are moving along for you! Keep getting plenty of rest!

    HI Merri Ann,

We used pre-engineered Hickory Tobacco wood for our floors. They are so easy to install! No sanding needed, which is perfect for kids 🙂

I love the color you chose for the living room. So calming yet elegant. I also LOVE the wide floor boards in that deep color. Good luck with the unpacking!

    Youve made so much progress!!

And I love that you’ve been able to supervise from the sidelines and not have to do the grunt work 🙂

Thanks Tracey!! I love the living room color too!! So much that I would’ve painted the whole house that color… but Mr. Weekly Bite mandated at least one room to be painted tan 🙂

I am so excited for you. I just love to rearrange and do stuff and redo stuff around the house…. I am actually jealous; because I am basically done at my house. Wish I could start over… Just love it….

That wall color + that fieldstone/flagstone fireplace = Perfect! That was a great choice, Estela. Looks great!

As “unfun” as moving may seem at 7 months, I speak from experience to say that moving just AFTER the baby is born is like the worst experience ever! Baby #2 was 3 wks old as we were putting house on market & walking out the door. The whole first few months is now a blur ;-( So sip that lemonade, settle in & nest away. You will be so thankful later that you’re enduring now.
