Frequently Asked Questions…

Today’s post is dedicated to answering your questions. I get several emails each week asking many different questions. If I didn’t answer your question in this post feel free to email me and I will be happy to answer it.

1) How long have you been a Registered Dietitian and what type of experience do you have?

I have been a registered dietitian for just over ten years. I did my dietetic internship and received my master’s degree in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. My experience ranges from clinical nutrition to outpatient nutrition and health & wellness. My most recent job before I had my first daughter was as the Director of Clinical Nutrition at Georgetown University Hospital and in my off hours I had my own private practice. My current job (and most important) is as a full-time mom to my two girls. I also run the Weekly Bite website as well as do writing and consulting for various companies.

2) You use to do online Nutrition Consultations, is this something you still do? If so, can I pay you for one?

As of one year ago, I did do online nutrition consultations. The main focus of the consultations was weight loss with an emphasis on mindful eating. I also did general health & wellness while catering to the clients nutrition priorities such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and other similar issues. I am currently not taking an new clients at this moment. If there is a strong request for it, I may restart the online consultations in the future. Keep in mind that I only take clients with general nutrition requests. Any other consultations will be referred to a local dietitian.

4) I love your kiddie recipes! Will you be featuring more kid recipes and will your blog focus more on kid’s nutrition?

I love posting kid recipes and meal ideas and plan on posting a lot more on that topic. I may do the occasional post on mindful/intuitive eating for kids, or more posts on Kid’s in the Kitchen. There are several Kid’s Nutrition websites ran by dietitians. They are experts in the field and I will link to their posts as often as I can.

3) You post a lot of vegan recipes, but post non-vegan recipes too. Do you eat vegan?

I eat all sorts of food, but I am not vegan. One of the biggest searches on Weekly Bite is for my vegan baked goods. I think it is important to offer a wide variety of recipes and will continue to post any vegan items I bake.

4) What is your blog posting schedule, will you be posting more frequently?

I will try to post as often as I can. Right now my goal is to post 2-3 times per week. I also send out a weekly newsletter which includes some of my favorite weekly recipes. Hopefully, as my kid’s get older, I will be able to post more frequently.

If you have any other questions for me, or I didn’t answer your question in this post, please send me an email and I will answer any questions you may have 🙂

I always think your kiddie lunch boxes look absolutely perfect for adult lunch boxes, too. Those are always some of my favorite posts!

I love the part about you being a mom to two girls! I’m so happy for you and your family. It seems weird how fast time flies when I realize how long I’ve been reading Weekly Bite! I love your site and I think you do such a great job at all you do!
