Honey Nut Balls {Kiddie Treat}
I took yesterday off and used it as a “processing” day. It definitely helped. I needed to switch my mindset from buying a home in San Diego back to selling our house here. What happened was such a bummer, but dwelling on it won’t help. We’re moving onward and upward π We’re convinced there’s a better buyer out there.
Plus… having a toddler that demands your undivided attention is a great distraction π M’s been such a great sport throughout this whole process that I decided to make a treat with one of her favorite foods… Peanut Butter π
This recipe includes an ingredient I’ve been intrigued with for a while… nonfat dried milk.
There’s been several recipes I’ve wanted to make that called for nonfat dried milk, after seeing it in this recipe I decided to bite the bullet and buy some.
Aside from the dried milk, these Honey Nut Balls are made with crunchy peanut butter, honey, & graham crackers. Once it’s all mixed together they are rolled into balls, then rolled into coconut.
Recipe adapted from All Recipes
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups crunch peanut butter
- 2/3 cup honey
- 16 graham cracker sheets (crushed into crumbs)
- 1/2 cup nonfat dried milk
- 1 cup coconut
Directions:
Crush the graham cracker’s into crumbs using either a food processor or smash them in a bag with a rolling pin. Set aside.
Combine the peanut butter, honey, & dried milk. Mix until creamy. Slowly mix in the graham cracker crumbs. Using a melon ball scooper, scoop the dough and use your hand to form into a ball. Roll the ball in coconut and place on a sheet of wax paper. These can be stored in an airtight container, or freeze them in a freezer safe bag.
The end result is amazing! They taste just likeΒ Chick-o-Sticks. If you haven’t heard of Chick-o-Sticks before, they Β are a crunchy honey peanut butter candy rolled in coconut. They are one of my favorite childhood candies. So so good!!!
mmmmm this sounds like a Heather treat to me π
I’ve never heard of chick-o-sticks, but these look delicious!
